"Where We Are"

“Where We Are” Video

The music video for “Where We Are” by David Baron and Simi Stone is an homage to the mystery of life, loss and the beauty in not knowing anything other than the moment you are in. What could seem obvious or cliche is the opposite in this moving glimpse into a forest-laden world set to enchanting music. The fragility and deep emotions of life resonate throughout as a letter, wooden briefcase, and compass leave breadcrumbs to the meaning of it all. The interpretation ultimately belongs to the viewer, as it should. "Where We Are " is an uplift set in the lustrous Catskill mountains.

Note: Simi's father died abruptly in the winter of 2010. While making this video she opens a wooden brief case of his for the first time. This real life moment is caught on film. It's raw and honest.

“Where We Are” Artwork

I chose this pastel for the March art piece because she represents a woman at peace with herself. It was a gift to one of my best friends, a woman I have known all my life, and that I love very much. She is such an inspiration and I thought this would be a nice way to celebrate her for March! This art was created about a year before the song, but The music David and I were making was almost like a partner to this artwork. The other side of the coin. Diving into our subconscious was not planned, however we both ended up there... and there you have it! ‘Where we are’
